Safety

Measure & Mark bow anchor, tie down

All fire extinguishers check for charge - Inspection Date

EPIRB checked (3 Seconds during first 5 minutes of the hour)

Radar reflector hoisted

1 pair of jacklines mounted on deck - stretched wet

Inspect liferaft; check inspection date

MOB gear ALL checked: Float & flag w/ canvas holder, drogue, strobe light & battery (must flash when upright) & horseshoe all connected by polypro line.

Lifesling & tackle mounted and checked

All seacocks checked, wood plugs attacked

Check dates on Flares

Engine

Check coolant topped off, Oil, transmission oil, belts, water intake open

Primary fuel filter inspected

Engine started, alarms, gages, engine exhaust

Test gears, throttle, prop-walk, kill switch

Inspect packing gland

Standing/Running Rigging

Inspect standing & running rigging (particularly swags, fittings)

Inspect sails (particularly chafe points, ears, leach, batons)

Deploy main & jib. Test reefing systems

Inspect deck hardware (blocks, cleats, winches)

Electrical/Navigation

All navigation electronics go (loran, GPS, Radar, depth, log,..)

Perform radio check

Test navigation , motoring, anchor, compass & instrument lights

Recon battery operation (switches) & charge

 

Head & Galley

Recon/check Head(s) for operation; Holding takes emptied if possible

High propane pressure (above 80 PSI)

Test burners , oven on stove

Water pressure checked in galley & heads
