| Standard Operating Procedures
for sailing
One of the things I believe in is being prepared when sailing offshore.
This means getting the boat ready for all possible contingencies. To make this process
easier, I created a series of check-lists and SOPs (Standard
Operating Procedures) to help me prepare for offshore journeys. I did this while taking
Advanced Coastal Cruising at Club Nautique. These SOPs are very valuable in organizing the
process of being 'skipper'. I have been happy to see others finding them valuable as well.
I have seen them posted in other Club Nautique boats as well as having some of the
instructors use them when doing their own passages or deliveries. These were created from
bits and pieces of other prep documents that others before me had created. I just added
some innovations of my own and organized them. I hope you like them.
